What sets the BASI Pilates Training Programmes apart from other training programmes?

The BASI Pilates Comprehensive Training Programme allows you to learn how to teach clients up to advanced levels on the full range of Pilates equipment, in addition to Mat Pilates exercises.

The BASI Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program gives students in-depth knowledge of Pilates theory, exercises, and skills to teach advanced-level clients on the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, F2 Spine Corrector, F2 Arm Chair, Ped-a-Pul, Mat, and other auxiliary apparatus.

The BASI Pilates Mat and Comprehensive Training are conducted by BASI Pilates highly qualified and experienced Faculty Members from all around the world.

Students are taught the highly acclaimed BASI Block System, a specialised technique for classifying and structuring the hundreds of exercises in the BASI Pilates repertoire.

The programmes emphasise an in-depth understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise science, establishing a solid scientific foundation.

Teaching skills, communication, and the ability to create customised sessions for clients with diverse needs and abilities are key focuses of the training.

BASI Pilates has a strong global presence with studios and affiliates worldwide, demonstrating its credibility and recognition within an international network.

BASI Pilates takes a holistic, student-centered approach, providing support throughout the learning journey and beyond, including post-graduation resources and teaching opportunities.

Graduates of the BASI Pilates Mat and Comprehensive Program are well equipped for a successful, enduring career in the Pilates industry and are internationally recognised.

How long are the Programmes?

The Mat Programme consists of 24 hours of lecture, discussion, exercise practice and analysis, divided into six Modules.

The Comprehensive Global Programme comprises 12 Modules, totalling 72 hours of lecture, discussion, exercise analysis and practice.

Who will be teaching us?

The instructors for each program may vary. They will be faculty members assigned by BASI Pilates Headquarters, located around the world.

How do we get the certificate for the Mat Programme?

After completing the Mat Programme, students must fulfil the following requirements before sitting for an examination and qualifying for certification.

  • Attend all Modules
  • Pass the final online written exam
  • Complete a minimum of 40 Self-Practice hours
  • Complete a minimum of 30 Student Teaching hours
  • Pass the final practice exam
  • Pass the final teaching evaluation.

How do we get the certificate for the Comprehensive Global Programme?

After completing the Comprehensive Programme, students must fulfil the following requirements before sitting for an examination and qualifying for certification.

  • Attend all Modules
  • Pass all online written exams
  • Complete a minimum of 100 Observation hours
  • Complement a minimum of 200 Self-Practice hours
  • Complete a minimum of 200 Student Teaching hours
  • Pass the final practical exam
  • Pass the final teaching evaluation
  • Submit and receive a passing grade on a student term paper.

When and where will we be examined?

The final practical exam and final teaching evaluation will be held at BASI Pilates Academy, Kuala Lumpur (Urban Spring Pilates, Mont Kiara), approximately 12-18 months after the completion of the final module.

Students will need to register to take the exams via the BASI Pilates portal. There are also other examination locations held around the world where you can register via the BASI Pilates portal.

What happens if I miss a Module?

It is mandatory to attend all Modules.

If you happen to miss any of them, you can make up those Modules at another host location.

Please make sure to notify BASI Headquarters via email about the missed Module(s).

Where can I clock in hours for my observation and teaching hours?

You can clock in hours for your observation and teaching hours through the BASI Pilates Interactive online platform, which requires a monthly subscription fee of USD10.

Additionally, you may also apply to teach at Urban Spring Pilates, Mont Kiara, where they will provide you with the necessary guidance and support to fulfil these requirements.
